Finally!! Cort de Russe’s story is coming – and what a story it is!!
If you’ve been a fan of the de Russe Legacy (and who doesn’t love Gaston and Remington), then you know that Cort is their first-born son. Big like his father but with his mother’s copper hair, he’s a fine figure of a man and much pursued by the ladies. We met him in Dark Moon, Dark Steel, and A de Russe Christmas Miracle, so it’s time for Cort to have his own tale.
We discover in the book that Cort is a much-decorated knight for Henry VIII (when Henry was young), and Henry sends Cort to Ireland to quell the uprisings. At the time, it was illegal – and considered treason – for an Englishman to marry an Irish woman, so of course, our lad Cort falls in love with an Irish lass. Like his father, he’s a rebel!
Gaston is ill in this book and I’m hesitant to say that he may even be on his deathbed. You’ll have to read the book to find out. I’ve always promised I would never write of a major hero’s death, and I won’t, but we all know that Gaston has been ill in the latter part of his life. Now, with Cort engaging in treason, Gaston must summon the strength to save his son.
This one is going to be a heartbreaker, so make sure you have your copy reserved! Coming March 2020!
