I know it sounds silly when there’s so much going on in the world that really needs attention, but there are people out there with dreams that really don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. They don’t end world hunger or save the whales. Just… dreams. Small dreams to some, but huge dreams to others. What dreams, you ask? Simple – hitting a bestseller list!
For authors, it’s kind of the summit of all of their collective goals. In this case, it’s the USA Today Bestseller list. Yes, that’s a thing! Hitting the New York Times is virtually impossible for Indie authors because of the way the NYT editorial judges books. The NYT isn’t achieved by sales numbers, but by editorial preference. It’s a curated list. And that’s totally fine for the NYT and definitely a huge achievement for those who have hit that list, but for most authors, the best thing they can do is hit the USA Today Bestsellers list based on sales numbers alone. That’s a ‘reachable’ goal.
But… they need your help.
Right now, I’m heading up a Halloween collection called Upon A Midnight Dreary. It’s a bundle of brand-new Halloween tales written by several very talented authors. The goal of this collection was to bring fun, spooky tales to readers, but also to see if we could hit a bestseller list. We’re close, but we need your help to do it.
