I have to tell you… I’ve worked in a lot of industries in my life. I started out working in a dental office as an assistant and then moved into real estate, property management, business management, medical management, construction, and finally sales management. I’ve worked with and for a lot of really questionable people, but I’ve also worked with a lot of people who were truly good and dedicated. You get all kinds in any industry. But I have to say that since I’ve moved into writing full time, I have met and worked with so many wonderful authors who are incredibly willing to give advice and help you along the way. Some of these women have become dear and close friends of mine, and I trust them implicitly. It never ceases to amaze me how Indie authors are so willing to tell you what they know and what they have learned so that you, as an author, can benefit. Because I’ve met such wonderful people, I pay it forward and also try to help authors who are newer to this business than I am. I give advice and suggestions, and tell them my experiences so they can learn from it.
Of course, any business is going to have people you learn to avoid and I’ve met a few of those as well. I’ve met the authors who are so full of themselves that you really want to take a poke at them to let all of that hot air out, but then I’ve met authors who have made “the Lists” (NYT and USA Today Best Seller lists) who will give you the clothes off their back. It’s a mixed bag. But the vast majority of authors I have met up with are wonderful people willing to share their knowledge. I try to be like that, too, because we’re all in this together. It’s a wonderful, big new Indie world out there and I’m carving out my niche!
But there’s one thing most authors agree on, including me – that we wouldn’t be where we are without you, the reader. You make us what we are. If you didn’t read what we write, then we would literally be nowhere. When I runs sales, or do contests, it’s thank my readers and hopefully bring in new ones. I want you all to know how much I appreciate you for spending your hard earned money on something I created.
That being said, THE WOLFE is still only $1.99 and SPECTRE OF THE SWORD is also on sale for .99 cents. There will be more sales coming this month, all to thank my readers for investing in me and my characters. All of us thank you!!!
Love,
