A Halloween Release for spoooooooky reading – EVENSHADE

I can't tell you how much I love this book. It was so much fun to write and I got so involved with the family and what they were going through... you will, too!  We've got a super-hunky firefighter (and secret warlock), a sexy doctor, and a house that was once owned by one of the chief accusers in the Salem Witch Trials.  The house is cursed, among other things, and has a horrid history... that pops up to literally haunt the new occupants.  Don't miss this great spooky novel just in time for Halloween!! http://www.amazon.com/Evenshade-American-Heroes-Series-ebook/dp/B00G6OORGW/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1382755163&sr=1-1&keywords=Evenshade+Le+Veque

A great success

The Hot Mojave Knights Romance Readers conference was a huge success! I met so many wonderful readers and authors, all of us brought together by our love of a good story.  It was thrilling to be able to communicate on such a personal level with people who had read my novels and loved them.  I think one of the very best things about the conference was talking to aspiring authors and giving them encouragement - there are lots of people out there with great ideas.  My advice? Just do it! Don't hesitate - if you have a good story, write it, perfect it, get people to help you package it, and publish it! After the conference, the book signing on Sunday morning was fabulous - lots of questions and signings and meeting more people.   It was a whirlwind, and I admit I'm a bit exhausted, but so well worth it. I'm really looking forward to the next conference in March 2015 and I hope you'll join me there!

Hot Mojave Nights weekend and other stuff

I'm going to be at the Hot Mojave Knights Romance readers convention this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. There will be lots of time for me to mingle with readers and I'm doing a book signing on Sunday, the last day of the convention. Everyone is welcome so if you're not busy this weekend, head on over to Las Vegas and join us! In other news, THE FALLEN ONE is on the top of several Amazon charts.  If you haven't read it yet, grab a copy! It's one of the best I've released in a long while - if you don't believe me, check out the reviews! And lastly, I'm trying to get a Halloween release out - a spooky romance called EVENSHADE.  I took the Salem Witch Trials, child ghosts, a beautiful doctor, a hunky fireman, and a sp0oky old house, stirred it all up in my witch's cauldron, and came up with a really great story. I've never done a 'ghost' story before, so I'm thrilled with the way this one is turning out.  Watch for it to be released around October 29th. Have a great weekend!

Prologue from THE FALLEN ONE

I have a special treat in store for you today. In honor of the release of THE FALLEN ONE, I am posting the Prologue so you can get the full impact of what this novel is about. I just know you're going to love it. Enjoy the opening chapter in THE FALLEN ONE. *** PROLOGUE Tower of London... January, 1331 A.D. “Bear arms as a knight again and I will be forced to kill you. These are the terms in exchange for your lives.” The words rang in his head, hollowed by the grief the meaning provoked. Perhaps they should kill him after all; surely the pain would not be as great as that which he felt at this moment. Swords, arrows, clubs; he could handle the agony of their handy work. In his eighteen years as a knight, he had been fed more than his share of injury and prided himself on his resilience. But dishonor was another matter altogether. This, he could not stomach. By his side, his brother and fellow knight spoke. “Kill us now and be done with it,” he hissed. The man accepting their fate shushed him. “Enough.” “’Tis not nearly enough. Do you not understand, brother? They seek to.…” “Quiet.” His words were low…

Release date for THE FALLEN ONE has changed

Unfortunately, the release date for THE FALLEN ONE has been pushed back to October 14.  I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but the book needed some re-writes and due to my travel schedule this month, it's going to be virtually impossible to release it on October 8.  We've discussed this before - I don't want to rush a book to get it out. I want to make sure it's the best book I can write with quality I am proud of, so to be safe, I am pushing back the release date.  It is entirely possible it could be released before October 14th, but I'm giving myself a safe margin.  If it is released before that date, you can be certain I'll announce it loud and proud here. Don't worry - it will be TOTALLY worth the wait! Would I disappoint you?! Mathias will be WELL worth it, I promise. Keep calm and read on!

New excerpt from an novel to be published in 2014 – LORD OF LIGHT

Here we go - today's excerpt This is from a VERY old novel - so old, in fact, I believe it was written right about the time I really started writing seriously, so at least 20+ years.  It's good - in fact, I'd forgotten how good, and has a paranormal/mystic element to it.  Here's the set up: Sir Holden Garr was a Hospitaller, a powerful and pious knight within their ranks until a freak occurrence at the Holy Sepulcher gave him the ability to heal with a touch.  Was he chose ...by God? By Satan? His order, frightened and intimidated by his sudden magical gift, decides it is unholy and send bountymen after him.  Holden escapes back to England and lives as a recluse until one day, he is forced to emerge from his solitude. The Lady Kerielle de Soulant is a beautiful young woman with a serious medical condition - she is slowly losing her sight. A corrupt priest associated with the Hospitaller order knows this and uses her as bait to lure Holden into the open where he can be captured.  He holds her father hostage until she is able to lure Holden out of hiding.  She also happens to be…

Of Men and Angels – excerpt from a yet to be published Medieval

You're in for a treat for the next few months - I'm pulling out all of the novels I'm working on (remember that I told you I have 27 in the pipeline to be finished) and will be posting excerpts to show you what's coming up in 2014 and beyond.  This one is from an unpublished novel entitled OF MEN AND ANGELS. 1217 A.D. -  Curtis D'Avignon is a powerful earl. When one of his vassals, Nathaniel du Rennic, is killed in battle, Curtis takes his army to du Rennic’s castle with the intention of claiming it. It’s a big castle and important. But the knights loyal to du Rennic don’t want anything to do with Curtis so he basically has to lay siege to claim the castle.  Enter the Lady Avrielle du Rennic; Nathaniel’s wife, she is distraught at his death.  In fact, she’s gone a little mad.  In this scene, Curtis is inspecting his latest acquisition and comes across Lady du Rennic and her children.  It’s a sad and touching scene.  Meet Curtis and Avrielle: *** He hadn’t realized how extensive the grounds of Castle Canaan were.  The sun had finally set, leaving in its wake a moist evening as Curtis…
